Good news!

Remember how last week I was so disappointed because our little boy was gone? I heard the most wonderful news today. When my roommates arrived home from the orphanage, they told me that he has been in the orphanage for the past week! I was so worried about what had happened to him, and wondered where he had gone. I can’t tell you how excited I am to know that Aubrae is in his room everyday and gets to play with him and that he will be taken care of here at this orphanage. I knew that he is in good hands now. He is not at the hospital, but he is somewhere in a room with other kids, and he will get played with by other BYU interns. I was so glad when Aubrae told me that all he wants to do is sit up. J That may be our fault. We would sit him up to strengthen his muscles and help him to roll over everyday, and strengthen his legs. He couldn’t sit up a month ago, and now that is all he wants to do! I am so relieved to know where he is and to know that he will be loved.

We had the little baby boy again at the hospital. We made sure to bring the desitin today for the diaper rash that he had. After 3 and a half months here, I will be an expert diaper changer!

I felt happy after leaving the hospital today because I thought about my experience there. I walked in to a baby lying in a crib, an older boy with his mother sitting on the bed, and another little boy  just sitting in a crib. There was no interaction whatsoever. After being there for about an hour – we had everyone laughing, the mom was helping take care of the baby, the two boys were playing together with us tossing a balloon back and forth…as I mentally stepped out of the situation, I realized we had brought joy, and that in itself was worth it.
