Gettin out of town...

More homework. I spent most of the morning doing homework, laundry and cleaning. I need to wash my sheets and towels again, but I’m worried that it is going to take a few days to dry because it is getting pretty cold here outside and when we dry things inside, it gets so humid and just takes as long. I will definitely be grateful for a dryer when I get home!

We are planning our trip to Brasov and Bucharest next week. We still need to work out last minute details, but I think we will be going Monday through Saturday. It will be a good break from work and from our usual routines. Other than being sick or the trip to the Monasteries with the professors, we have been at work everyday. It is a much needed trip! I’m excited to go, but I know we still have a lot to figure out – we still need to get our train tickets, make reservations at the hostels, get maps, etc!

Tonight, we tried to go find a feast – style restaurant that the girls went to the first week when I was sick. We got there and they told us that the kitchen was closed, so we decided to try somewhere else. We took a walk around different parts of Iasi. There were some amazing buildings. I felt like I was in Vienna with some of the colored Renaissance style buildings with white decorative trim and fresh flower baskets outside the window. I definitely need to get out of the 2 mile radius route that I travel everyday – there is so much more to see!

We saw this delicious hotel café and pastry shop, so we went in to check it out. It was so confusing. We didn’t know if we order at the counter where the register is, if we sit down and order, or if we order right next to the pastry glass. After attempting all 3 and probably looking like idiots, we finally ordered at the register. Hope that was correct! We got our food though and I got a delicious vanilla éclair with a maple topping. It was fantastic! If I come home with a few extra pounds, I blame the divine pastries here!

Now, it’s back to the homework!
