Pictures speak a thousand words...

Because I have had lots to say, I decided to just update and put a bunch of photos - rather than the thousand word posts I have had lately...enjoy!

This is on our walk everyday to the hospital. Us shorties roll up our pants so that we don't get the sewer water on our pants. This has to be the worst smelling part of town.

The crew at outreach on Thursday nights. We played nertz and I accidentally
broke a table because I got so into it. Hopa!

We definitely had our game faces on. It was a super intense game.

Remember how I told you that my workers feed me a feast sometimes?
This was all the food Elena sent home with me on Friday. So nice of her!

I was never big on flowers - until I came here. I definitely bought myself a giant bouquet of dried wildflowers today that are absolutely amazing. It was only 10 lei - about 3 USD. I bought it from the cutest lady with a scarf around her head and who had no teeth.

This was our day at the hospital on Friday with Marina on the left and Nadia on the right. We taught them how to play Uno, colored and painted our fingernails.

This was the cute 17 year old girl - Corina who was in the hospital after she passed out in school.
Thank goodness she could translate for us!

Gypsies are definitely real here. I forget that it's not normal to see gypsies everywhere.

You may not recognize us in normal civilian clothes and no scrubs! My favorite part of the weekend is being able to shower and put on one of my 6 nice shirts. :)

I told Kala to take a picture to make fun of the goofy bridal pictures with just their eyes and the bouquet. Didn't work out like I planned and ended up being kind of a creepy picture. Sorry!

Underground piata - I love this place!

Tonight, for one of our homework assignments we had to make 3-4 Romanian dishes

We made stuffed peppers. This is us stuffing the peppers. I thought it was going to be super gross, but it was actually really delicious...Pofta buna! (Bon Appetit in Romanian)

Right before we stick them in the pan to boil!

The stuffing - pork, rice, carrots, onions, parsley, dill, tomato paste. My job was to hand the stuffed peppers to the girls. You better believe I wasn't about to put my hands in the raw meat mixture!

This is the view outside my window every morning.
