Today, I’m pretty sure V hadn’t slept last night or he became a narcoleptic overnight! He fell asleep in the middle of us playing 3 times. One time I was sitting right in front of him and he fell asleep, but the other times he was playing with a toy and I would look over and hear him snoring! I think he doesn’t sleep much at night, because the worker came in and woke him up every time. Poor guy!
We did lots of puzzles today, actually no we only did two puzzles over and over and over again. They have the little wooden puzzles with the pegs. It was fun to see the kids get so excited after they finished the puzzles! They would go around and show me, and walk around the apartment to find the other workers and say "Uite Marianna, BRAVO!" (Look Marianna, bravo!) So dang cute. I gave them lots of hugs and kisses, and tickled them because I knew I only had 3 more days with them! i know that come Friday, noon will roll around and I will go and change out of my scrubs and they will say "pa" just like every other day, not realizing that I won't be there again the next week. Oh well, I guess it's just the way it is, even though it's still sad to leave them.
I had to say bye to one of my workers today. I wasn’t really sure what to say – and on top of that, I didn’t know how to say it in Romanian. But I understood what she was saying and she was very kind. She told me I should come back and visit her in Romania! Maybe! It was sad to think that I won’t see her again, but I guess this is just the way it is. Today, she taught me how to make the Romanian salad - which may be one of my favorite things here! The traditional salad here is cabbage sliced into little pieces with oil, vinegar and salt. I don't know why, but I love it!
It’s raining like crazy here! I got some boots the other day – just in time! Hopefully the weather isn’t bad next week and I won’t have problems with the flights!
Pa Marianna (Pa means "bye" here). This is cute Marianna that is obsessed with the grand canyon and taught me how to make salad today. It was sad to say goodbye to her today! She kept saying"drum bun" to me today. I had to come back home and translate it. It means "farewell" or "I wish you well". I'm gonna miss her!
On a much better note, Dad, remember this...yep. Registration is this week for the half. I am thrilled!
